Day 43 Thurs 27th May

19 miles from Hexham to Bellingham
After mooch around Hexham o followed the River Tyne through the park and then along a cycletrack to Bridge End. Then I took a busy minor road to Fourstones before following a quieter lane, with Gyp off the lead, to Hadrian's Wall.

We walked West along the Wall for a few miles before taking a bridleway across the moors which lead to a farm lane taking us to Ravenhaugh where a green lane took us to meet the Pennine Way again.
On Monday I went through Booze but there was no pub. Yesterday I went through Juniper but I didn't see the bush or any berries. However, today I went past Shitlington Hall below Shitlington Crags ...

Arrived at Bellingham just before 7.00pm. A long day with rain on and off all afternoon. Even worse my left ankle is really playing up. It is swollen and I have rubbed in Traxam gel and taken Ibuprofen for the first time in years.
Gyp thinks she is in heaven at the campsite as it is next to a wood. She is gradually working her way through all of the dead branches.
