12 miles from Berrow to Weston-Super-Mare
Kids playing outside woke me up at 6.45am so I got up early and was on the road before 8.00. Went down narrow country lanes with no verges but lots of traffic for the first 5 miles. The landscape is very flat with drainage ditches everywhere that have to be crossed. Then I had to walk up a Bleadon Hill, but it was very quiet except for six horseriders and the views from the top were fantastic. All of the low plains in the foreground with the coast over to the West and Glastonbury Tor in the distance.
Being as it was a short day, due to yesterday's extension, I arrived at the campsite to find my second parcel waiting for me.
Other milestones are: 275 miles walked means that I have walked the first quarter of my planned LEJOG; no more hills for 8 days until I get to Staffordshire; Gyp wore her baby socks, without any fuss, for the first time today (photos to follow!).
