(Bishopdale - Wensleydale - Swalesale)
Walked along green lane and quiet single lane to Aysgarth. Then down past the church to view the Upper Falls.

From there it was field walking along well-signposted paths to Castle Bolton. The final short climb was hard work in the sunshine.

From the tiny village of Castle Bolton it was due North over the tops to Grinton and the on to Reeth.

I got to the campsite (Orchard Camping) to be warmly welcolmed by Pam who offered to make me a cup of tea. She readily agreed to charge my mobile. I later met husband Pete who was also extremely amiable. He was busy trying to accomodate about 20 backpackers as they arrived in small groups doing the Coast to Coast. Some of their tents were little bigger than bivvy bags and made my tent look huge alongside.

Orchard Camping is highly recommended. Very helpful, good facilities and only £5.
Reeth is a lovely spot in the Dales. Shops, cafes, river and a choice of pubs
